Privacy Policy

Tokpodz is live, ephemeral chat tied to the moments you're watching. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. We keep data collection to the minimum the product needs, and we never sell your data.

What we collect

• Email address — when you create an account (email/password or Google sign-in).
• Username — the public handle you choose. Your avatar is generated from a random seed; we don't use a real photo of you.
• Pod messages and Q&A — the chat and questions/answers you post inside a pod.
• Content you create — pod titles you set up, and any abuse reports you submit.
• In-app activity — your reputation/leaderboard events and the pods you attend.
• Notification token — a device push token, used only to send you pod notifications.
• Voice — if you join an audio pod, your voice is streamed live to other participants in that pod. It is real-time only and is not recorded or stored by us.

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and we don't collect your location, contacts, or files.

What we do with it

We use your email to create and secure your account and, rarely, to contact you about it. Your username and messages are shown to other people in the pods you join — that's the entire point of the product. Reputation and attendance power the leaderboard. Your push token is used only to notify you about pods. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.

Messages and ephemerality

Messages, questions, and answers inside a pod are stored on our servers only while the pod is active. When a pod expires, that content is permanently deleted. This is a feature of the product, not just a policy.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: Profile → Edit profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all data associated with it — profile, messages, questions, reputation, pod subscriptions, and notification tokens — and frees your email address for reuse. The action is immediate and cannot be undone.

If you can't access the app, email us at williamikwogo@waybrus.com and we'll delete your account and data on request.

Cookies

We use the minimum storage required to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers that process data only on our behalf, never for their own purposes:

• Supabase — authentication and database.
• Vercel — web hosting.
• LiveKit — real-time audio for audio pods.
• Resend — sending account and notification emails.
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivering push notifications.

If you sign in with Google, Google shares your basic Google profile (name, email address, and profile picture) with our authentication provider so we can create your account. Inside Tokpodz you appear only as the username and generated avatar you choose. Google also sees that you signed in to Tokpodz — that's it.

Children

Tokpodz is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
